Your younger sister in SS II has written for your advice on what subjects she should study for the SSC Examination. As someone who knows her ability in the different subjects, write a letter to her giving advice on why she should choose certain subjects rather than others. DITTO Congratulations on your promotion to the graduation class. I have seen the detailed results of the ten subjects t hat you have been offering since the time you entered Senior Secondary one. Your letter asking my advice came at the right time. Now that you will sit for next year’s May/June School Certificate Examinations, I believe that you should concentrate on the subjects that will lead you to good subject combinations that will facilitate your career choices. I know you have been studying English, Mathematics, Biology, Agricultural Science, Economics, Government, Accounts, Home Economics, Yoruba, Literature and Bible Knowledge. I know you once told me that you would like to be a lawyer or a mass communicator. I still remember how many prizes you have won as your college debater. I am also aware that you are the outgoing president of your college press club. It is a fact that you have a natural flair for talking well and writing beautiful essays and stories. Out of the two careers that you like, I personally will advise you to consider the legal profession as number one. As a barrister at law you can work in any office even if you decided not to practice. You can still be a journalist with little or no additional training after you must have graduate as a lawyer. The following subjects are most suitable for either law of mass communication: English, Mathematics, Government, Literature, Economics, Bible Knowledge, Commerce and Biology. The Biology simple fulfils the one science subject expected of you. You must work diligently and meticulously towards coming out in the flying colours. I wish you goodluck!
