The president of Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has warned that the ongoing strike by the union may last longer than expected since no solid agreement has been reached between the federal government and the union.

Biodun Ogunyem expressed his regrets and called on parents and students to show understanding and solidarity with the union explaining that the efforts of the union have been channeled towards preventing Nigerian universities from collapsing.

He says that the Universities may go the same way that our secondary schools and primary schools have gone, if no action is taken to prevent it.
