You have recently moved into a new neighborhood with your parents. Write a letter to your sister who is studying overseas giving, at least, three reasons for disliking the new place.

How are you and everybody over there? Oh! It’s been long since I wrote to you last and so I am very sorry and thus ask for forgiveness.

Aunty, I sincerely hope that you have been studying hard because you know how strenuously Daddy and Mummy are sweating to make the money they are sending to you. It is my prayer you pass out in flying colours.

Well, since you are my only sibling,  cannot but continue to chat with you through this medium as the United States of America is a distance, hence the reason for missing you so much.

Did you even notice the address on this letter? Well, don’t bother much, that is the address of our new apartment as we have relocated to a new area which I dislike due to its loneliness being a developing area. Besides, our house is far from the road where things can be bought. You have thick bushes along the road and most of the time offensive odours of pigs, goats and other domestic animals fill the air. People are few, as it is a new area. The houses are scanty and dotted the whole area.

Coupled with the above reason for my not liking the area is the absence of friends to play with. Most of my friends find it difficult to pay me visits as they often complain of high transport fare to the place hence my loneliness.

Apart from this, I don’t like the place because most of the roads are marshy and rough. Most of the time the streets are always flooded anytime it rains especially when it rains heavily. I will not be able to go outside because if I do, I will surely slip off and fall into the muddy water. I just feel sad each time it is getting dark because I know the usual darkness will descend for the “Power Holding Company of Nigeria (P.H.C.N) often manages to give us light but it won’t last up to fifteen minutes and it is off again.

I had wanted to phone you before this letter but because of the service providers’ network challenging. This is making life boring for me. I cannot browse on the computer, I cannot charge my phone and other related matters. I am really fed up. I cannot wait for my result to be released. I will also go to the University just as you did.

Aunty Lydia, don’t blame daddy but the stupid ‘Aget’ that told him a different story about the house that daddy had to pay for the rent. Anyway, don’t let me bother you again with my stories, I will call you anytime my phone picks the network signal. Greet your friends, neighbours and your course mates for me. Till I hear from you. I say bye for now.
