You were an eye-witness to a fight in your dormitory in which  a junior student was given a black eye and the principal had threatened to expel the boarders unless the facts of the matter were made know to him. Write a letter to the principal stating what actually happened.

REPORT ON THE FIGHT IN THE DORMITORY

It was in the afternoon of Saturday 23rd of July 2013 when we were observing our siesta. Earlier in the day, Senior Tokunbo Falade had requested James to wash his clothes for him. There was no empty bucket that he could use so Senior Tokunbo told Jemes to remove Tunde’s soaked clothes from his bucket and use it for the washing.

When Tunde came from the field and saw his clothes in the broken and wretched plastic bucket under the tree he became very furious and went to James, and turned Senior Tokunbo’s dresses into the mud. Senior Tokunbo was not at the scene because he  had gone to read.

James and Tunde who are in class two fought each other bravely with both sustaining some injuries. When Senior Tokunbo came back from class and on being told what happened he became very annoyed. His clothes were seriously stained and spoiled. Tunde had more injuries than James, the owner of the bucket that caused the fight. Senior started to flog James at the buttocks, palms body and back at random. It was during this flogging exercise that part of the cane toughed James eye and he developed black eye from it.

Senior Tokunbo and the other seniors warned us not to tell our housemaster or any of the college officials about it. The health prefect however, had since applied first aid treatment but I was highly surprised at seeing how the supposed minor injury has turned to be very serious.
