This is the complete list of Nigerian Presidents and Leaders from 1960 to date (2017). The list contains information about the past and present leaders of Nigeria, the date each of them was born and the period through which they ruled. Below are the list.

1.SIR ABUBAKAR TAFAWA BALEWA
He was the first prime minister of the first republic between October 1st 1960 to January 15th 1966, he was born in the year 1912 and died in the year 1966.

2. DR NNAMDI AZIKIWE
Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe was the first president between October 1st 1960 to 15th January 1966, he was born in the year 1904 and died in may 11th 1996.

3. GENERAL J.T.U AGUIYI IRONSI
He was the first military head of state from January 15th, 1966 to July 29th, 1966.

4. GENERAL YAKUBU GOWON
General Yakubu Gowon was the second military head of state between 1966 and 1975 and was born in the year 1934

5. GENERAL MURTALA MOHAMMED
He was the third military head of state between 29th July 1975 to February 13th, 1976, he was born in the year 1938 and died on 13th February 1976.

6. GENERAL OLUSEGUN OBASANJO
Obasanjo was the fourth military head of state between 1976 to 1979, he was born in the year 1937.

7. ALHAJI SHEHU SHAGARI
He was the first executive president of federal republic of Nigeria between 1st, 1979 to December 3rd, 1983 and was born in the year 1925.

8. GENERAL MUHAMMADU BUHARI
Buhari was the head of State between 1983-1985, he was born on December 17th, 1942

9. GENERAL IBRAHIM BABANGIDA
BABANGIDA was the Nigerian military president between 27 August 1985 to 26th August 1993, he was born in the year 1941

10. CHIEF ERNEST SHONEKAN
Ernest was the interim President between 26th August 1993 to 17th November 1993.

11. GENERAL SANI ABACHA
Abacha was the head of state between 19th November 1993 to 8th June 1998, he was born in the year 1943.

12. GENERAL ABULSALAM ABUBAKAR
He was the head of state between June 8, 1998, to May 29, 1999, he was born in the year 1942.

13. CHIEF OLUSEGUN OBASANJO
OBASANJO Again was the national president of Nigeria between 29, 1999 to May 29, 2007

14. ALHAJI UMARU MUSA YAR’ ADUA
He was the national president of Nigeria from may 29, 2017 to May 5, 2010, and he died in office at the age of 59.

15. GOODLUCK JONATHAN
Goodluck Jonathan was the national president between May 6, 2010, and 2015, he was the vice president and later became the national president after the death of Yar’ Adua and again contested in 2011 and won the presidential election.

16. MUHAMMADU BUHARI
He is the current president (as of the time of writing this article) of Nigeria after winning the 2015 presidential election, he was the military head of state between 1983 to 1985 and now becomes an elected national president.
