Ecobank introduced the cardless withdrawal service (aka cardless transaction) far back in 2017. However, a lot of people still don’t know how to withdraw using the service. In this article, I will show you how to withdraw on Ecobank ATM without your ATM card. Please note that this service is exclusive to Ecobank users only.

Now, the first thing to do before you can withdraw from the Ecobank ATM without your ATM card is to download the Ecobank Mobile Banking App. The App can easily be downloaded from the Google Playstore.

To download Ecobank Mobile Banking App, login to Google Playstore from your android phone and search this term “Ecobank Mobile Banking App”. Once the app shows up, click on the download button and install the app on your phone.

After you have installed the app, login and select Xpresscash from the list of services available in the app. Another message will prompt out asking you to choose between ATM and #Xpresscash agent. You are to choose ATM for the purpose of this write-up.

After that, enter the account you will be making the withdrawal from. If you have only one bank account with Ecobank, then you will only need to enter your account details; however, if you have double or multiple accounts, you have to enter the one that has some cash inside.

An eight-digit electronic token will be generated following the submission of your bank account details. The token will be valid for three days and expires thereafter. Save the eight digit token in a secure place. If you have any security app on your phone, then use it to password-protect your message so that people won’t have access to it.

It is important for you to know that with the eight-digit token, any person can withdraw from your bank account without your knowledge and it is untraceable. Hence, it is important that your guard it even more than you guard your ATM security code.

Now to withdraw your money, go to any Ecobank ATM machine and select Xpresscash. Enter the eight-digit token generated from your app, the amount you want to withdraw and wait for the machine to process your request. Once it is done, your money will be out for you otherwise you don’t have enough money on your account or the ATM is out of funds.

As you can see, withdrawing money from the Ecobank ATM Machine without an ATM card is very easy and for me, it is easier than using the physical ATM card.

In case you are contemplating whether to use this service or not, there are many reasons why people are now migrating to the cardless withdrawal service.

One of the reasons is its convenience; cardless withdrawal, unlike the physical ATM card method, does not require any physical object, hence if you know the eight digit token by heart, you can withdraw your money anywhere in the country and you can even send somebody to withdraw your money for you though it is not advisable to share the code with anybody.

Again, the transaction with the cardless withdrawal is easier because you only need the eight digit token pin and nothing else. It also protects your account against theft.

Hope that this article helps. Subscribe to my post @admin to get an email notification next time I post an article.
