EXAMINATION MALPRACTICE: A SILENT KILLER IN OUR EDUCATION SYSTEM by : 3:24 pm On July 9, 2018

Examination malpractice has been a great problem undermining our education system seriously. Students have found satisfaction in writing examinations with the so called RUNZ and making distinctions without having anything up their skull. What do one have to say about a graduate who can’t write a good letter to apply for a job talk more of making an impact in our society. It is always said that we are the leaders of tomorrow, but how can we assume that role when we go about contracting machineries to write our examinations and busy looking for where to get answers to questions we have not been asked. If we cannot write an examination on what we have been taught in the classrooms, how then can we carry out meaningful research on what we have not been taught to make new inventions and better our society.
As a student, your future is in your hands and however you make your bed, so shall you lie on it.
My advice to students is to bend down and read and forget about this deception that your worth lies in your certificate. Listen, in real life, no one cares about what is written in your certificate. All that is considered is the practical problems you have been able to solve with what you learnt in school. School may reward you for graduating with the best result, but life rewards you for creativity. Assuming after your graduation from the university, you lost your certificate, what will be your proof that you are a graduate ? Can one believe it from your command of the English language ? Can one believe it from your ability to proffer solutions to problems in your discipline.
I think this calls for a sober reflection into our academic system because it is an important pillar in every society and very vital to the development of any nation.
