First Bank Transfer Code, Check Balance and Buy Airtime –USSD Code by : 3:54 pm On January 9, 2019

Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD) is one of the easiest means of banking online with mobile phones. One advantage of USSD over online banking or banking via an app is that it requires no internet connection. Inasmuch as you know the USSD code for what you want to do, you can simply do it right on your phone even with the old Nokia Phones.

In this post, I am going to show you how to transfer money with your FirstBank account, how to check FirstBank account balance etc on your phone using USSD code.

With *894#, you can transfer money from your first bank account to another account of the same bank or to other Nigerian banks. With the help of first bank transfer code, you can easily, safely and quickly pay someone for any goods and service rendered without having to visit the four walls of the bank.

The introduction of this version of mobile banking has made banking easy since you can do almost everything on the comfort of your home. And it has also reduced the number of queus in the banks both at the ATM and inside the banking area.

Like I said before, the USSD code works on any type of mobile phone and requires no internet connection.

Without wasting your time, below is a guide to FirstBank USSD Code.

How to Register for First Bank Transfer Code

To help tighten the security of the USSD banking, FirstBank requires that you create a 5 digit transfer password. For some banks, the ATM password is used but Firstbank uses different passwords for both. However, if you don’t want to crack your head with so many passwords which you may forget, you can simply add zero to the back of your ATM password. For example, let’s say your ATM password is 1234, you may use 12340 for your USSD password.

That being said, here is how to create your USSD password.

To create your password, dial *894*0# with the phone number registered to your account and if you have more than one account and debit card, choose the preferred one. You will then be asked to enter the 4-digit PIN (you use for withdrawing) of the chosen card, please do so and the last thing is to create a 5 digit authentication PIN.

Code to Transfer Money from First Bank.

To transfer money from Firstbank account to another FirstBank account or to another Bank’s account number, Dial *894*Amount*BeneficiaryAccountNumber# and select the recipient’s bank. You will then be asked to input your 5 digit transfer PIN you created earlier and if you enter the correct combinations, you will immediately be notified of the successful transfer.

You can transfer up to 100,000 Naira every day. Your service provider will charge you 2-5 Naira depending on how long it took. Transfer between first bank customers is free but a 55 Naira charge applies when you are sending money to other banks. Note that First Bank recently introduced an added security check for any transaction above N20,000.

Check Account Balance & Mini Statement.

You can easily know how much you have in your account and get a mini statement of your account balance by dialing the USSD below.

The USSD code for FirstBank Nigeria is  *894#,  most people use this code to transfer funds so they call it Firstbank Transfer Code, but the code can actually be used to perform so many other functions as which include checking of bank account balance. How to transfer money with Firstbank Transfer Code

Unlike other banks where you’ll have to dial a lot of codes, simple dial *894*Amount*Account number#, the account number you are to put is the account number that you want to transfer the money to. Remember dial *894*amount*account number# i.e. *894*2000*1234512345#

How to buy airtime with the Firstbank Short Code

Ever since the introduction of FirstBank USSD code for Airtime purchase, I no longer buy recharge card slips and it is amazingly quick. It does not take up to 2 minutes to have your number credited.

You can buy Airtime for the phone number linked to your account as well as those of your friends. It is important to note that the two are done differently. For example, to recharge your own personal number linked to your account, you won’t enter your phone number again since the bank already have it while for the other one, you will be asked to input the phone number of the person you wish to send the credit to.

To buy airtime for your own personal number, dial *894*200# and to buy airtime for your friends or your number not linked to your bank account dial *894*Amount*phone number#.

You will be asked to enter your 5 digits security password after which the number will be credited with the amount you entered.
