Basic requirements for N-Power recruitment

The N-Power administration is trying to extend its programs to accommodate every Nigerian citizen. However, you must meet the basic requirements of the program in order to participate in the training. First of all, your age should be in the range of 18-35 years. Again, more attention is paid to the following factors than to other things:

1. Keen interest in that field of activity which you are preparing for.
2. You must pass their exam.
3. Innate desire for self-improvement.
4. The desire to use the natural talents to become the best version of the person you may be.

N-Power Program Schedules

Graduating trainees would receive an exit tool box/Starter Kit at the completion of their in- centre training.

The goal of the programmes of NPower includes;

• To decrease the rate of unemployment in the country.
• To create a system that would facilitate transferability of employability, entrepreneurial and technical skills.
• To provide solutions to ailing public service and Government diversification policy.

The program is sub-divided into 3 classes i.e

• The N-POWER teacher corps
• The N-POWER knowledge
• and the N-POWER BUILD.

N-POWER TEACHER CORPS

This programme is a free-willed. It provides training for about 500,000 unemployed graduates and engages them with jobs in their respective fields. They would then get computing devices, each to contain information for their own specific programme under this programme. These engaged graduates will render teaching, instructional, and advisory solutions in four units.

N-POWER TEACH

Individuals under this programme assists primary and secondary schools teachers in teaching, they would also help take education to remote/marginalised areas. This programme would help them gain work experience and help mould them better for the work environment.

N-POWER HEALTH

This part provides health training for the 500,000 graduates that would fall under this group. Graduates in this group will work as public health assistants and provide basic health diagnostic services in their deployed area.

N-POWER COMMUNITY EDUCATION

Members that had been chosen for this would go to different communities where they will serve as instructors in such areas as Adult educators and civil educators.

N-POWER AGRO

The volunteers deployed under this programme would serve as intermediaries between researchers and farmers to help them with tips for better farming practices to make Nigeria self-sufficient in terms of food.

The programme is not an employment and so you would only be paid an allowance of NGN23,000 every month for the 2 years, which the programme would run. Since it not an employment, an engaged graduate would be disengaged and another set of graduates would be engaged so as you take part in this, it is best in your own interest to be looking for jobs or better still, create one yourself. Also, the body would be the one to deploy participants to the states where you would undergo the programme. One very good thing about this programme is successful
applicants will benefit from a compulsory employability and Entrepreneurship skills development programme.

N-POWER KNOWLEDGE

The N-POWER KNOWLEDGE programme is a “train to job” initiative that would speed-up advancements in technology and creativity which would lead to a diversified economy. 25,000 non-graduates would be engaged in this and each would get a computing device and other information products he would need to excel. This also is divided into sections, these are;

N-POWER CREATIVE

This programme would engage 5,000 young people to train them and bring out the creativity in them so they could become exporters of world-class services. They would be trained in either of the following; animation, graphics design, post-production and script writing. The programme is due for 3 months(1-month theory, 2 projects). After the programme, participants would either get internship opportunities home or abroad, get linked for job or market. opportunities.

N-POWER TECH HARDWARE

This would empower 10,000 young Nigerians into the ICT industry by training them to be hardware technicians. This would be practically oriented and participant learns to service and manufacture tech hardware like mobile phones, tablets, computers and other tech hardware. The programme will run for 4 months, 3-month training while the remaining 1 month goes for assessment, graduation, and setup.

N-POWER TECH SOFTWARE

This would train 10,000 young Nigerians into software developer for the local and international markets. The programme will last for 11 weeks and participants would then be linked with placement opportunities and also shown how to start a career in the ICT industry.

N-POWER BUILD

This is a skill to job (training and certification)
programme aim at engaging 75,000 young unemployed Nigerians to become skilled and competent technicians, artisans and service professionals. The industries this will focus on include; Automotive, utilities, construction, building services, aluminum, gas and built environment services.

The above been said, for now, not everyone is eligible for the programme, it is meant for only;

• Unemployed persons between the ages of 18 and 35
• Persons that pass the aptitude test and relevant tests
• Genuine interest in the chosen field
• Ability to show you can fit into the programme.
