CHELSEA WILL REFUSE TO SELL WILLIAN UNLESS BARCELONA MAKE EYE-WATERING £70m BID
CHELSEA will refuse to do business with Barcelona unless they pay a whopping £70MILLION for Willian.
The Blues have already rejected a third bid of £55m for their dynamic Brazilian winger as they play hardball with the Spanish champions.
New Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri is expected to cave in eventually and allow the move to happen but not before the Catalans cough up a whole lot more.
Willian, 29, is on holiday until the first week of August after getting to the World Cup semi-finals with Brazil.
He has not been pushing for a move and loves life in London but Barcelona
are looking to take advantage of the player’s frustration after a difficult last year at Chelsea.
The normally laid-back midfielder was in and out of the team despite impressive performances and grew increasingly dissatisfied under the regime of former boss Antonio Conte.
So much so that he scrubbed out an image of his old manager from a picture of the Chelsea squad celebrating May’s FA Cup win.
And new manager Sarri’s insistence that he will not telephone any of his senior players while they are on leave to try to convince them to stay could well backfire and give Barca the edge in this transfer.
But Chelsea will double their money on a player they pinched from under the noses of Tottenham for £30m five years ago.
If a deal goes through he may be heading straight to work.
