There are so many universities in Nigeria but the problem most people are faced with is the cost of studying. It is a known fact that federal universities are cheaper than state or private universities. But then, some Federal universities are cheaper than others. As a result, we have done extensive research on the school fees of various federal universities in Nigeria and decided to publish these 4 federal universities as the cheapest universities in Nigeria. If you are still a JAMB candidate, you can consider any one of these universities for admission.

·         1. Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) -27,000 NGN

Ahmadu Bello Universities (ABU) comes as the first in the list. The annual school fees of Ahmadu Bello University is about N27000.

Ahmadu Bello University was founded on October 4, 1962, in Zaria. It is one of the best universities in Nigeria and has produced lots of notable personalities in Nigeria which included but not limited to Sanusi Lamido (current Emir of Kano); Ahmed Makarfi (former Kaduna state governor); Adamu Mu’azu (former Bauchi State governor); Ibrahim Shekarau (former Kano state governor).

·         2. University of Ibadan (UI) — 30,000 NGN

University of Ibadan (UI) comes second in the list. The University of Ibadan (UI) has an annual school of fees of N30000.

The University of Ibadan is the oldest university in Nigeria. It was founded by the federal government of Nigeria in1948. The university has eleven faculties which include College of Medicine, Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Science, Faculty of Agriculture Renewable natural resources, Faculty of Social Sciences, Faculty of Education, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Faculty of Technology, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Public Health, Faculty of Dentistry and economics, and Faculty of environmental design and management.

 

  • 3 Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) — 32,000 NGN

The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAB), like the name implies, is a university built specifically for agricultural related disciplines. Courses like Medicine and Surgery, Nursing, Civil Engineering etc are not offered in the university.

FUNAAB has annual school fees of N32000 making it one of the cheapest universities in Nigeria.

·         4. Bayero University, Kano (BUK) — 33,000 NGN

Bayero University is among the cheapest federal universities in Nigeria. It has annual school fees of N33000. The university was founded on October 4, 1962, in Zaria.
