This article provides information on the UNILAG 2018/2019 admission clearance requirements, procedures and documents needed. By reading this article, I believe that you are among those lucky ones that were offered admission by the University of Lagos (UNILAG).

Before we continue, I would like to say big congratulations to you because it is not easy to gain admission into the great University of Lagos.

While there are many reasons for you to celebrate your admission success, you must not forget the main reason why you are given admission.

Some freshers used to play away with their first year not knowing how crucial this stage is. You are to follow up with your colleagues and do whatever you are asked to do when others are doing it.

Admission clearance has a commencement date as well as the deadline when nobody can be accredited again. Although your name might have appeared on the admission list, you must know that your admission status becomes valid only when you have submitted all the admission clearance requirements and obtain your matriculation number.

Again, only those who submitted all the documents needed for admission clearance are qualified for matriculation number. Without doing your clearance, you can’t obtain the number.

Admission clearance in UNILAG may be easy if you do it early when most students have not started school. Reason being that once school resumes fully, you will be in a very long queue before you can submit yours.

Please always remember to keep a copy of any payment (school fees, acceptance fee etc.) you made during your admission processes because you will be asked to provide it when you will do your clearance or even in the future.

So here, I will provide you with the list of documents you will need for UNILAG Admission clearance. This list includes all the possible documents that may be required by any department. Some departments may not need all the documents whereas some may ask you to provide all of them.

Therefore, it is important that you inquire about your department to know the exact documents they require. Sometimes, you may suffer yourself to get all the documents only to realize that your department needs only a few of them.

Below is a list of all the documents needed for UNILAG 2018/2019 Admission clearance;

Note that these documents are arranged in a certain order, so do well to inquire about your department to know how they are arranged (which document comes first and which one comes after).

1. Birth Certificate
2. WAEC/NECO/WAEC-GCE/NECO-GCE/NABTEB (only provide the one you used during Jamb registration).
3. Affidavit Jamb and School admission letter
4. Jamb original result slips
5.  Acceptance and guarantor’s letter
6.  State of origin or local government certificate
7.  Red background passports (it is recommended that you snap many passports)
8. Primary School Certificate Cash (depends on the departmental and faculty dues)
