Federal Government of Nigeria Has Declared August 21 and 22 as Public Holidays by : 8:16 pm On August 20, 2018

The Federal Government of Nigeria has publicly declared August 21st and 22nd as Public Holidays in the country to honor the Eid-el-Kabir celebration. Government agencies and officials have been ordered to pass the information across their staff and workers.
Eid-el-Kabir is a Muslim celebration day characterized by the killing of rams. It is the day Muslims all over the world come together to celebrate Eid-el-Kabir. Eid-el-Kabir is the second Muslim holiday which comes after Eid-el-Fitri holiday. In Nigeria, some Christians celebrate the day with their Muslim friends.
Eid-el-Kabir is a special day for the Muslims and every Muslim family is expected to kill at least one ram each day of Eid-el-Kabir. The prices of rams usually go high during the Eid-el-Kabir holidays owing to the increased demand from the Muslims. It has been reported that more than 100 million animals are slaughtered during the celebration.
And over 3 billion US Dollars are spent on rams and other animals in the course of the Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
Whether you celebrate the day or not, the important thing here is that the government has declared it public holidays; and not only for the Muslims but for every Nigerian citizen
We at Earboard wish all the Muslim brothers a happy Eid-el-Kabir celebration!
