Nigerians, including celebrities, have gone to shower him with praises and admiration on the comment section of his post.

Femi Otedola is a business mogul, philanthropist and chairman of Forte Oil PLC, an importer of fuel products.

Femi Otedola is well known for his philanthropic acts. He has donated several amounts of money to different charity organisations. No wonder many people have been looking up to him to intervene financially in containing and fighting the spread of coronavirus

With this recent donation, he allies himself with few independent persons and organisations who have shown their support towards helping the government and the country at large to fight this global pandemic.

Among the few Nigerian billionaires who have helped in fighting the dreaded virus, are Aliko Dangote, Segun Agbaje, Abdulsamad Rabiu, Tony Elumelu, Herbert Wigwe, and Jim Ovia.

So far, Runtown is perhaps the only celebrity who has supported financially towards the fight against coronavirus. It was said that he shared over 10 million Naira on Twitter.

Meanwhile, it is important to note that other billionaires and celebrities may have helped, in one way or the other, to curb the spread of the virus. However, they might have chosen not to make it public.

Internationally, billionaire and co-founder of the Alibaba Group, Jack Ma had recently contributed medical supplies from China.

Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari commended all those who have supported financially in curbing the novel coronavirus. He recommended such generous acts to every wealthy Nigerians, groups and organisation, noting that together, we will overcome the challenges brought by the pandemic, and chart a new course in nationalism and brotherhood.
