GENETICS, the study of hereditary factors, has been a subject of research and development over the past decade. The ability to edit, delete and substitute genes which gives man the power to do and undo (Literally). Since the completion of the first Human genome project (human genome sequencing), much effort has gone into genetic research in a bid to unlock the secrets of life and ultimately, it’s origin. The origin of life, the basis of human existence, the evolution of man, the essence of nature and so many other concepts that have been shaded in obscurity all have their roots in genetics. Man has come to realize this crevice in the structure of nature.
Now, with gene editing and PCR(Polymerase Chain reaction) techniques and other genetic techniques, man is now capable of modifying life and life forms to his desire. And we know the repercussions of man’s desires when they become obsessions.
