I was just trying to recharge my phone through GTBank *737#. However, I faced some issues which I wouldn’t like you to pass through when using the service.

*737# is the general transfer Code for GTBank. With the code, you transfer money to your friend’s account number in another bank or to you own account number in another Bank or even in GTBank.

With the code still, you can buy airtime. You can transfer airtime to your number or to your friends number. Here is the GTBank code for airtime purchase.

To buy airtime from your GTBank account for your own number linked to your GTbank account dial *737*amount#.

To buy airtime from your GTBank account for another number not linked to your GTBank account, dial *737*Amount*phone number#. Note that in the first one, you don’t have to add your number because it is already linked to your account whereas in the second one, you must add the receiver’s number in the format above.

You can as well recharge your phone through SMS, for example; to buy airtime from your GTBank account, send [Network] [Amount] [Phone Number] to 737. That is; MTN 100 09000000000, then send to 737.

Note: all these transactions must be done with your phone number linked to your GTBANK account, otherwise it won’t work.
