With the emergence of the so-called “China Phones”, it may appear difficult for one to distinguish a fake phone from an original phone as the two most times resemble each other.

In this article, you will learn how to know whether a phone is original or not.

To check whether your phone is original or not, dial *#06# and you will see some numbers that will appear on the screen. They are called International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI).

If the phone you are checking is original, the number will begin with 35 and it must be 15 digits. Eg. 3587286085471230

Note: some Android phones and some other smartphones may not start with 35 but the number must be 15 digits if it is original.
