Kogi Drama: Audu-Faleke Camp Snubs Bello, Ododo’s Tinubu Endorsement by : 6:00 am On October 19, 2025

Bello, Ododo Endorse Tinubu for Second Term as Audu-Faleke Faction Stays Away[/i]

Former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello and Governor Usman Ododo have endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term at an endorsement rally aired on TVC. Notably, the influential Audu-Faleke faction of the All Progressives Congress (APC) was absent, underscoring simmering intra-party tensions in Kogi politics, The Bureau News reports.

“Tinubu is the angel to fix Nigeria,” says Bello — Nigeria News Today

Bello urged supporters to back the President’s reform agenda, describing Mr. Tinubu as the “angel” Nigerians had been waiting for. He listed policy moves frequently cited by allies—fuel subsidy removal, the student loan scheme, a market-driven exchange rate, and revenue reforms—arguing that the gains would take time to spread.

“We will not wait for God to send an angel with wings to fix Nigeria… The angel is President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”

Ododo aligns with Abuja — and Kogi 2027 calculus

Governor Ododo threw his weight behind the President, framing the reforms as necessary for infrastructure upgrades and long-term growth. He called for continued support as projects scale across sectors. Party watchers say the rally was also a signal of Kogi’s alignment with the centre ahead of 2027.

Audu-Faleke bloc absent

APC stakeholders confirmed that the Audu-Faleke bloc did not attend. Their absence, party insiders say, highlights lingering differences over local strategy and influence within Kogi’s APC structure. While the rally projected unity around Tinubu, the no-show adds a wrinkle to grassroots mobilisation efforts.

Gradualist message on reforms

Bello cautioned that years of systemic decay mean the government cannot “fix everything at once,” but insisted that infrastructure and macro reforms are underway. He framed 2027 as a legacy inflection point, urging supporters to entrench policy continuity.
