The Internet Technology as a solution to poverty in Nigeria by bossricardo: 8:45 pm On September 5, 2018 |
‘The computer, no doubt is the greatest invention of all time. During the prehistoric times, it was difficult to carry out tasks easily, since everything will have to be done manually with the use of our bare hands. Things like computation of students’ grades, storing of a company’s large files, the creation of employees payroll and sending of emails to our loved ones at far distances were herculean tasks then. That age was widely known as the industrial age (practically the 18th, 19th early 20th century). Towards the end of the 20th century, the world witness the dawn of a new era, everyone heaved a sigh of relief and breathed fresh air as we all welcome the technological revolution (otherwise known as the information age)with the introduction of computers. Complex tasks were now simplified with the pressing of some keys on the keyboard and click of the mouse pad. The creation of the computer was somewhat followed by the creation of the internet. Presently in this 21st century, we move about with computers in our pocket in the form of an android phone or best referred to as smartphones and that is an indication that the world is going digital. Corporations(big and small) are now online in order to reach a wider audience and so there is a huge opportunity for every smartphone owner to make money consistently by being a member of this websites. There are several thousands of legit online businesses Nigerians can benefit from; forex trading, information marketing, e-commerce, cryptocurrency trading, blogging, freelancing to mention a few. The icing on the cake is that you can run it in the comfort of your home. It’s just unfortunate that the poor ones and industrial age fanatics regard these legitimate online businesses as scams perhaps because of the rise of the rise of cyber crimes popularly known as ‘419‘ or ‘yahoo yahoo‘. The Nigerian public needs a re-orientation and as such wake up from their slumber to utilize fully the money-making opportunities that abound on the internet so as to reduce unemployment and poverty to the minimum. The richest man in the world today in the person of Jeff Bezos is an internet entrepreneur who operates an e-commerce website known as Amazon.com. You get the picture right? You too can become the next Jeff Bezos, it’s just a matter of belief and smartness embedded in your due diligence.
