TOPIC: TRANSFIGURATION

Transfiguration means to be transformed. Closer to the end of the ministry of Jesus on earth, before His death and resurrection, He revealed His true nature, His deity, to Peter, James and John. The appearance of Moses and Elijah depicts the fulfillment of the law and the prophets in Christ. The voice of the Father, saying; “This is my beloved Son, hear Him!” authenticated the person of Jesus Christ. At the centre of this event is the nature of the death that Christ would die for the sin of the world. It is also the revelation of His coming glorification and enthronement as the King of kings and Lord of lords.

Our understanding of the true nature of Jesus Christ defines our level of commitment to Him and the assurance of our salvation and future glorification (2 Peter 1:16-18). And as we behold Him daily through our Bible reading and prayers, we become more like Him. Becoming more like Him should remain our main desire.

PRAYER: Dear Lord Jesus, open my eyes to see Your glory and transform me into Your likeness. Amen!
